A wallet is required for handling transactions on tezos blockchain. Some wallets for handling transactions on Tezos are Temple (previously Thanos), Kukai, Galleon, Airgap, Atomex, Exodus, SimpleStaking, Tezzet, and Trust Wallet. The hardware wallets are Ledger & Trezor.

Temple wallet is similar to metamask (Ethereum). It is an easy browser extension wallet for interacting with Tezos ecosystem. Another popular wallet is Kukai.

Important terms

• Seed Phrase - It is a long phrase of 12 to 18 random words used to generate a private key. It is meant to be kept private.
• Private key - It is a long string that is algorithmically derived from a seed phrase. As the name suggests, it is meant to be kept secure and private. It is used to sign transactions.
• Public key - It is the counterpart of the private key, that can be used to verify if a transaction is signed by its corresponding private key or not.
• Public key hash - It is a shorter string (hash of the public key) for uniquely identifying wallets. It is more popularly known as a wallet address or implicit account address. It is a 36 character long string starting with tz1, tz2 or tz3.

Temple Wallet is an open-source and easy-to-use browser extension wallet for interacting with the Tezos Ecosystem. You can use it to handle transactions for your Tezos DApps. It supports all FA1.2 and FA2 tokens. You can also create multiple accounts on Temple wallet and it also has a feature for delegation to bakers.

Installing Temple wallet

• Click on the link to install temple wallet.
• Select your browser and add the temple wallet extension
• Once installed, follow the steps to create a new account
